The RCMP is hoping to help support local efforts to reduce relationship and family violence.
The national police service is launching a new round of support for its Family Violence Initiative Fund, aimed at helping communities across Canada respond to violence in the home and ensuing victim issues. In particular, the fund will be put towards efforts to increase awareness of relationship violence, offer help to survivors, and crime prevention programs. Beyond a financial boost, the fund also provides an opportunity for applicants to partner with their local RCMP detachments for the work.
Any non-profit organization or municipal, provincial and territorial partners can apply.
The fund has been in existence since 2004, helping support nearly 400 different programs across the country.
