Here’s something to do in Saskatoon to get in the Christmas spirit.
Christmas at Grandma’s is a setup on Circle Drive that has professionally decorated rooms, shopping from local vendors and pictures with Santa Claus.
Corrie Swallow, who is also known as Hypnotist Corrie J, came up with the idea.
Just one month ago the space was a haunted house, and after rave reviews, organizers decided to flip it into the ultimate Christmas experience.
“This is what Saskatoon needs right now,” Swallow said. “I am an entertainer by trade and I am missing hearing that laughing, the giggling, the smiling and the fun!”
Swallow says it’s very important to them to keep everyone safe. Capacity will be limited to 10 to 12 per cent, masks and hand sanitizing are required and it will be one-way traffic only. There is a Plexiglas barrier between Santa and the kids for pictures.
“Just seeing the kids that have come in to get their picture taken with Santa, it’s really something to see,” Swallow said. “They have their masks on but you can totally see the smile and the happiness in their eyes.”
Christmas at Grandma’s is open Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
It’s $10 per person, a family of four is $30 and if you bring a non-perishable food item for the Saskatoon Food Bank, you get a free picture with Santa.
Tickets are available online at Christmasfun.ca or at the door at 106B 810 Circle Dr. E.
