The challenges with COVID-19 have forced a Saskatoon high school to move classes online until the New Year.
Saskatoon Public Schools announced Monday that Centennial Collegiate is moving to Level 4 of the Safe Schools Plan effective Thursday.
This means all classes will move online until the Christmas break.
Classes will run as scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday, allowing staff and students time to adjust.
“Centennial Collegiate has had 16 positive cases of COVID-19, which has resulted in the temporary closure of 25 classes as students were directed to self-isolate. The numerous disruptions have made it difficult for staff to deliver instruction for all students,” said a news release from the school division.
Since the start of the school year, Saskatoon Public Schools has had 96 positive cases at 35 schools and the board office.
The school plans to reopen to students on Jan. 4.
