One person was sent to the hospital after a house fire in Meadowgreen on Thursday night.
The Saskatoon Fire Department received a 911 call at 10:40 p.m. reporting smoke coming from a four-plex on the 300 block of Avenue Y South.
The fire in a lower unit was brought under control within 14 minutes.
Two people inside the unit had evacuated earlier, but one needed treatment for burns and smoke inhalation.
In a news release, the fire department said the smoke alarms had been removed, which caused a delay in evacuating the home.
It’s estimated the fire caused $50,000 damage.
