Wakaw RCMP is looking for a suspect following an incident Saturday night on the One Arrow First Nation.
Around 6:45 p.m., RCMP received a report of several disturbances in the community.
While investigating the disturbances, RCMP were advised that an adult woman entered a home uninvited before assaulting another woman, leaving with the victim’s four-month-old son.
The child was found by his mother, unharmed at a second home in the community. The suspect had left the home by the time the child was located.
The boy was separated from his mother for around 30 to 40 minutes.
The suspect is known to the victims. No weapons were seen or used during the incidents.
Officers identified a suspect vehicle at around 7:40 p.m., conducting a traffic stop to find a man and a woman. This was not the suspect believed to be responsible for the abduction.
Overnight, officers continued patrols and follow-ups on tips to locate the suspect, but were unable to d0 so.
An arrest warrant has been issued for 26-year-old suspect Tori Sutherland. She has brown eyes, black hair and a thin build. She stands 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 115 to 120 pounds. Investigators believe she was last seen travelling on foot. There is no clothing description available.
The public is being asked not to approach Sutherland, but rather call 911 immediately if she is seen.
