A number of COVID-19 cases in Indian Head now have both the elementary and high school closing down.
The Prairie Valley School Division said a large number of students have been required to self-isolate, and that’s had a significant impact on the operations of the schools. So to keep the schools running properly and reduce the risk of transmission, both schools’ doors are shutting for two weeks.
Kids will start online learning on Monday, and then won’t be back in class until Nov .30.
This comes as the health authority is telling people in Indian Head to be more vigilant in the wake of an increase in cases. Because of an increase in cases in that area, the authority is reminding people to keep their “bubble” small, limit their contact, stay home when sick, and to get tested if they develop symptoms.
The authority is also restricting visitors to the long-term care homes there, and the hospital. Visitors will only be allowed for compassionate reasons.
