A 20-year-old woman is in custody following multiple high-speed chases and a canine track Monday morning.
Just after midnight, officers saw a vehicle that had run away from police earlier near the intersection of 19th St. W and Ave. R.
They tried to pull the 20-year-old over, but she kept driving.
Police laid tire spikes down near Ave. D and 22nd St. W, which the suspect drove over.
However, it didn’t stop her, as she continued to drive. Officers called off the chase, as the situation was becoming dangerous.
Later, they found her vehicle on the 100 block of Adelaide St. E, but she was not inside.
Finally, officers found her and made the arrest with the help of a canine track. She was hiding under a deck on Elm St. E.
The 20-year-old woman is in custody, charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from Police and Breach of Court Conditions. She also was arrested on an outstanding warrant from a separate police matter.
