Reports of a man with a knife prompts hold and secure at Vibank School

Vibank School was placed in hold and secure mode Tuesday afternoon after a man allegedly approached students in the school yard while armed with a knife.

According to the Indian Head RCMP, the call was received at about 1:10 p.m. Students were taken inside the building and the doors were locked.

Officers from the Indian Head and White Butte detachments and members of the Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Service responded and searched the school premises.

The Mounties said a suspect was located by police at his home within an hour of the call being received. He was taken into custody and the hold and secure was lifted.

Vibank is about 50 kilometres southeast of Regina.
