The Regina region had six of the seven new COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday by the Saskatchewan government.
The Regina area has recorded 50 cases since Sept. 1; the region’s total to date now stands at 182.
The other new case reported Tuesday was in the central-east region. The seven cases increase the total in the province to date to 1,899.
There were 18 recoveries reported, hiking that total so far to 1,737. To date, 24 people have died in Saskatchewan after testing positive for COVID-19.
There now are 138 active cases being reported in the province, with 119 of those split between the Saskatoon area (68), the Regina region (30) and the central-east zone (21).
There are eight Saskatchewan residents receiving inpatient care in hospital. Six of those individuals are in Saskatoon, with one in Regina and one in the southwest.
In addition to the case total in Regina, there have been 441 cases in the south area (222 southwest, 200 south-central, 19 southeast), 385 in the Saskatoon zone, 359 in the far north (350 far northwest, nine far northeast), 276 from the north (132 northwest, 77 north-central, 67 northeast) and 256 in the central region (175 central-west, 81 central-east).
The total comprises 936 community contacts, 555 cases without any known exposures, 286 travellers and 122 cases that remain under investigation by public health.
Another health-care worker has tested positive, increasing that total so far to 73.
Among the total number of cases, 621 are in the 20-to-39 age range, 584 are between 40 and 59 years of age, 325 involve people 19 and under, 306 are from 60 to 79 years of age, and 63 are 80 and over.
The 1,447 tests done Monday increase the provincial total to date to 189,515.
