Saskatoon’s emergency crews responded to a serious, head-on collision involving two vehicles on the Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge Sunday morning.
At approximately 8:29 a.m., Saskatoon Fire Department received multiple reports of a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Idylwyld Drive South near 20th Street East. Callers reported that one of the drivers was trapped in their vehicle.
Fire crews responded to the scene in less than one minute, finding two heavily damaged vehicles and a significant amount of debris.
Bystanders had assisted the driver and lone occupant from one vehicle, as fire crews made contact with the trapped driver and lone occupant of the second vehicle.
Firefighters had to remove the driver-side door so they could rescue the driver.
Both individuals were transported to the hospital with undetermined injuries.
