A backyard dig in Saskatoon unearthed something from the past.
Members of the Canadian Forces from Dundurn, Saskatoon police and the Explosives Disposal Unit were called to the 100 block of 109th Street about an explosive device on Wednesday.
At around 6:30 p.m. a homeowner found the device while excavating their backyard.
In a release, police say the initial investigation indicates it to be several years old and inactive.
The device was removed and the all clear was given around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
