A civilian member of the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) has tested positive for COVID-19.
SPS confirmed the positive case to 650 CKOM Wednesday morning.
The individual received the positive diagnosis over the weekend, according to spokesperson Kelsie Fraser.
Those who were determined to have been in close contact with the employee are self-isolating at home and following the advice and direction from the 811 HealthLine.
“The individual who tested positive was not in contact with any member of the public in the course of their duties,” Fraser said in an emailed statement.
According to its 2019 annual report, SPS employs 476 regular members, 147 civilian employees and 70 special constables.
