The number of COVID-19 cases associated with a social gathering in Saskatoon increased again Wednesday.
In a media release, the provincial government said there now are 21 cases linked to the get-together which initially was reported Sunday.
There were 10 new cases announced Wednesday, with seven in the Saskatoon area. One of the other cases is from the northeast area of the province, one is in the Regina region and the location of one case is pending.
The total number of cases reported in Saskatchewan to date is 1,751.
Four more recoveries were recorded, increasing that total so far to 1,620. To date, 24 residents of the province have died after testing positive for COVID-19.
There are 107 active cases being reported in Saskatchewan, with 32 of those in communal living settings.
Four people are in hospital in Saskatoon, where they’re receiving inpatient care.
There have been 431 cases in the south area (221 southwest, 197 south-central, 13 southeast), 357 from the far north (349 far northwest, eight far northeast), 322 in the Saskatoon area, 271 from the north zone (131 northwest, 73 north-central, 67 northeast), 229 in the central area (168 central-west, 61 central-east) and 140 in the Regina region.
The location of one case is still being investigated.
The total includes 872 community contacts (including mass gatherings), 520 cases without any known exposures, 262 travellers and 97 cases that are under investigation.
So far, 69 cases have involved health-care workers.
There have been 574 cases in the 20-to-39 age range, 536 from age 40 to 59, 293 between the ages of 60 and 79, 290 involving people 19 and under, and 58 in the 80-and-over range.
The 1,218 tests done in the province on Tuesday increased the total to date to 163,151.
