A 37-year-old man is facing charges after a laser was pointed at the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) airplane Saturday morning.
In a release, police say at about 1:40 a.m. Saturday, the SPS Air Support Unit (ASU) was targeted by a laser.
The ASU was able to locate the person aiming the laser in its direction and directed ground units to the area of Weldon Avenue and 16th Street, where they took the man into custody.
He was found to be in possession of two lasers.
The man is charged with mischief under the Criminal Code, and projecting a directed bright light source into navigable airspace under the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
Police say they want to remind the public of the dangers associated with pointing a laser at an aircraft.
