A Saskatoon police officer was sprayed with bear mace after chasing after a suspect.
Police received a call on Sunday of a man carrying a knife through Pleasant Hill Park.
A patrol officer found the suspect in the park and went to go and speak with him.
The suspect ran from the officer and dropped his knife.
The officer continued to pursue the suspect on foot into a yard in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood.
The suspect then turned on the officer and sprayed him with bear mace.
Police are still on the lookout for the man.
The officer has recovered and is back to active duty.
