A nine-year-old boy is fighting for his life in a Saskatoon hospital after what his grandmother is calling a drowning incident at Pike Lake Tuesday.
Zoe Bunnie confirmed to 650 CKOM in a Facebook message Wednesday morning that her nine year-old grandson was still in hospital following Tuesday’s incident.
“(He) is such a beautiful little man … his smile can light up a room,” Bunnie said when speaking about the injured nine year-old.
Just after 4 p.m., Saskatoon Fire Department was dispatched out to Pike Lake after a mutual aid request in the area.

Water rescue crews arrived on the scene, finding the boy unresponsive on the shoreline being attended to by paramedics and police.
It is believed that the boy was not wearing a life-jacket when he was removed from the water.
CPR was then administered as STARS Air Ambulance prepared for the transport of the patient to a hospital in Saskatoon.
The boy was transported in critical condition just before 5 p.m.
The collaborative response included Saskatoon Fire, Medavie Health Services West, the RCMP, STARS, Delisle & District Fire Department and Saskatchewan Provincial Parks staff.
