As soccer continues to take a bigger and bigger piece of the sports pie in Canada, in the last few weeks we’ve seen two young Canadians make headlines, proving we now have the national talent on the men’s side to make some serious noise.
The women have been doing this for a while but now with Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David, if you haven’t been paying attention, I can guarantee you will soon.
Even if you’re more prone to mock soccer for being a sport of fake injuries and no scoring, it’s been proven over and over that no matter what the sport, when it comes to cheering for the maple leaf, you can be won over.
Davies made history being the first Canadian to win a Champions League title. David made history with the most transfer money ever for a Canadian, at 30-million.
David is only 20, Davies is a teen phenom, doing sensational things for Bayern Munich at just 19-years old.
They are just beginning already incredible careers and will make a soccer fan out of you, and likely sooner rather than later.
