A 24-year-old woman was sent to hospital after being stabbed Monday night.
In a release, police say members of the Community Mobilization Unit responded to a report of a robbery at about 8:20 p.m., in the 2100 block of 22nd Street West.
When they arrived, they found the woman suffering from a stab wound.
It was reported to police that an unknown man approached the woman, assaulted her and took off with her purse.
The woman was treated by paramedics on scene and then transported to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.
The male suspect is described as wearing his hair in a ponytail and he had on a blue jacket and shorts.
