11:00 – Saskatchewan’s first supervised drug consumption site is going to open in Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood in October. The group had asked for $1.3M from the provincial government to help fund the site, but with no provincial funding for this year they’re trying to fundraise with the goal of keeping the site open 24/7/365. Jason Mercredi is the executive director with Prairie Harm Reduction (formerly AIDS Saskatoon), and he joins guest host Mike to tell us what the site will look like when the doors open in the fall.
