An early morning domestic disturbance in Saskatoon sent one young woman to the hospital for a mental health assessment.
Saskatoon police responded to the 3900 block of Millar Avenue just before 2 a.m. for the disturbance. The mother had indicated that her daughter was experiencing “suicidal ideation.”
When police arrived, the daughter was carrying a hatchet. She was asked to drop the weapon several times.
When the young woman raised the hatchet to the police, a taser was successfully deployed.
The woman was taken into custody without further incident.
No one was injured and there are no charges at this time.
The young woman was taken to hospital for a mental health assessment.
