Hudsons Canada’s Pub is also planning on celebrating the return of hockey by honouring drink specials.
Nutrien Children’s Festival of Saskatchewan
This year’s children’s festival will kick off online starting Aug. 1, ending on Aug. 31. Juno winner Fred Penner, Ruploops The Human Radio, and Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield are some of the virtual guests throughout the month. You can find more information here.
Flower picking
Flowers are in bloom at the Black Fox Farm and Distillery. For $35 you can grab a bucket and pick as many flowers as you can fit.
No pets allowed are allowed at the farm. You can get more information here.
Blackstrap Water Park
The Saskatchewan Aquatics Adventure Park at Blackstrap Provincial Park is up and running. There are 13 different attachments to the inflatable water park.
Because of COVID-19, operators have had to reduce the number of people they let on the water park to 80 at one time.
Exploring nature
Sunny weather is expected throughout the weekend, providing good weather to explore trails in and out of the city. Meewasin trail, Cranberry Flats and Beaver Creek are free options to explore as a family.
Pike Lake Provincial Park, Blackstrap Provincial Park, The Battlefords Provincial Park, Fort Carleton Provincial Park and Manitou and District Regional Park are all under a two-hour drive away if you plan on visiting a Saskatchewan park.
“There are still so many fun activities to do,” said Darby Sutherland with Tourism Saskatoon.
“There are some amazing patios, there is flower picking, the Prairie Lily is operating, it should be a great weekend.”
