Charges are pending against a 34-year-old man after police defused a tense situation Thursday afternoon.
Police received a call for assistance around 12:50 p.m. about a man believed to be traveling to Saskatoon following an incident involving a gun being fired in Dundurn earlier.
The investigation led police to the Parkridge neighbourhood where the police tactical unit was deployed to a home in the 200 block of Sherry Crescent.
Three children and a woman were inside the home, along with the suspect who police believed may have been armed.
According to police, the woman later exited the home, but the suspect did not. A crisis negotiator made contact and the man came out peacefully at 3:05 p.m.
The children were located inside the home uninjured. Police did not say if a firearm was located.
