According to the Saskatchewan Health Authority, someone associated with the Prairie Wind Estate personal care home in Herbert has tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr. David Torr, a medical health officer with the SHA, declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at the home according to a release on Thursday. The SHA is investigating to identify and contain any risk of further spread.
To date, no other residents or staff have presented COVID-19 symptoms.
The release said the policy is to declare an outbreak when one person, a resident or worker, inside a long-term care or personal care homes tests positive for the virus.
Visitor restrictions are in place at the care home to control and contain the virus while an investigation and contact tracing is underway.
