A fire that was deliberately set in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood early Sunday morning caused $100,000 damage.
In a release, the Saskatoon Fire Department says crews responded at 3:10 a.m., to a report of smoke coming from the back of a property in the 300 block of Avenue U South.
When firefighters arrived, they found the structure with smoke and flames visible from the back of it.
A search confirmed there weren’t any occupants or pets inside the building.
Then, on Sunday at 4:12 p.m., firefighters responded to a detached garage fire in the Mayfair area, in the 1200 block of Avenue F North.
When they arrived, they found a small fire on the exterior of a garage.
There weren’t any occupants or pets inside and there weren’t any injuries to fire personnel or civilians as a result of the fire.
A fire investigator has also confirmed that blaze was deliberately set and pegged damage at $5,000.
