A 52-year-old Canora man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a woman in that town.
William Richard Tuttle was arrested Friday.
In a media release, the RCMP said officers from the Canora detachment responded to a home Friday at about 10:15 p.m., after getting a report of an attempted murder.
When officers and paramedics arrived at the house, they found a 59-year-old woman who was seriously injured. The woman subsequently died.
Tuttle was arrested at the scene. He’s to make his first court appearance at Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes-South, Yorkton RCMP, Canora RCMP, Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Section (FIS), Yorkton RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS), Edmonton RCMP and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are investigating.
