Motion Fitness is warning some of their members to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms after someone who was at their Brighton location tested positive for the virus.
The gym confirmed to 650 CKOM the person worked out at the gym on four separate days where they could have transmitted the disease.
The dates and times are:
- July 9 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- July 10 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- July 13 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- July 14 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A representative from Motion Fitness clarified the member only worked out for one hour and 15 minutes on each ocassion, but the gym included expanded time frames to be “extra cautious.”
The representative added the gym was sanitized after the positive case. He added a staff member is designated to clean equipment between each use.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority didn’t put out a public advisory over the incident. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab has previously noted public notices are only provided if contact tracing cannot be done effectively within 48 hours.
