The Saskatoon Fire Department is investigating a suspicious fire that occurred late Thursday in a vacant house on Avenue C North.
In a media release, the department said it received a 911 call at about 11:50 p.m., saying a boarded-up property in the 1600 block of Avenue C North was on fire.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the house was fully involved. The blaze was under control in less than 20 minutes.
The release said the house was under a demolition order because of damage it had sustained in a previous fire, so there wasn’t an estimate of the damage caused Thursday.
A fire investigator is trying to determine the cause of the fire, but the department said the blaze is considered suspicious.
