Two occupants that became trapped during a Friday collision on Highway 11 have been safely transported to hospital.
Reports of the multi-vehicle collision came in just after 4:30 p.m. on the major highway at Tamke Road.
Saskatoon Fire Department responded, along with other emergency crews including RCMP and Corman Park Police Service.
The collision involved two passenger vehicles and a semi tractor-trailer, according to a release by Saskatoon’s fire department.
When firefighters arrived, one vehicle had been pushed beneath the semi, while the other sat a short distance away in a field.
Two people were stuck in the vehicle in the field, while the other person was being treated on scene. It’s believed that the semi was stopped on the side of the road at the time of the collision.
The extraction was completed just before 5:30 p.m., with both occupants successfully removed. Additionally, all three occupants were transported to the hospital by ground with unconfirmed injuries.
The semi operator was uninjured and did not require medical care.
