A train derailed near Weyburn on Tuesday evening.
CP Rail said in a statement a freight train with empty intermodal containers derailed southeast of Weyburn at about 10:30 p.m.
There weren’t any injuries to the crew, and there weren’t any public safety concerns.
“After all repairs and necessary safety checks, the rail line reopened to traffic (Wednesday) morning,” the statement said. “The incident is under investigation.”
The Highway Hotline said traffic was down to just one lane and speed restrictions were in place on Highway 39 between Weyburn and Estevan.

Jeff Holt drove by the scene. He said anywhere between 20 and 30 cars had come off the rails.
“The boxcars with containers are flipped over, on the other side of the ditch,” he said. “There are a lot of semis, pickers and cranes down here … They’re starting to pick it up … but it’s going to take a long time to clean this mess up.
“It will slow traffic down on Highway 39.”
The Mounties did not have to close the highway at any point.
More to come.
