The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged a 32-year-old Prince Albert man with possession of child pornography.
According to a media release, the investigation began on March 11 and nearly four months passed before the suspect was charged. On Tuesday, the ICE Unit implemented a search warrant at a residence.
Police seized various electronic devices and confirmed they contained images and videos of child pornography. The investigation included the possession of child porn from an online storage system from the United States, the media release said.
The man was charged with possession of child pornography and was released from custody. He’s to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Aug. 11.
The ICE Unit is made up of investigators from the RCMP and the Saskatoon, Prince Albert and Regina police services.
