A 27-year-old Saskatoon man is facing a number of charges — including disarming and assaulting a police officer — after an incident in the city Saturday.
According to police, a call was received at around 2 p.m., of a suspicious person in the 500 block of 11th Street East. When an officer arrived at the scene, he found a man who allegedly had caused property damage.
The officer tried to arrest the man, but he resisted and then attempted to disarm the officer. The officer used his pepper spray, but it wasn’t effective and the men struggled for several minutes before other officers arrived.
The man was Tasered, but it too didn’t stop him. Officers finally got the man under control and took him into custody.
