Tornado warning issued for areas of southern Saskatchewan

A tornado warning has been issued for the Assiniboia, Gravelbourg and Coronach region. It is also under a severe thunderstorm warning.

The Moose Jaw, Pense, Central Butte and Craik regions are also under a severe thunderstorm warning.

Environment Canada has also issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the City of Regina, Estevan, Weyburn, Radville, Milestone, Fort Qu’Appelle, Indian Head, Lumsden and Pilot Butte.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Thunderstorms are developing over south-central Saskatchewan along a trough of low pressure.

Some of these thunderstorms may become severe this evening or overnight.
