A 31-year-old man is facing charges after a stabbing at the Colonial Square Inn and Suites on Canada Day.
Saskatoon police were called out at around 8 p.m., after getting reports of an injured person outside of a motel in the 1300 block of Eighth Street East.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a stab wound.
Police identified a suspect who was found about 20 minutes later at the intersection of McKinnon Avenue and 14th Street. He was taken into custody without incident.
The 23-year-old victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was charged with assault with a weapon and breach of conditions. He was also found to have outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Police say the incident is not believed to be random in nature.
