Museums in the province have been given the green light to reopen on Monday, but Nutrien Wonderhub won’t quite be ready to reopen at that time.
Nutrien Wonderhub Chief Executive Officer Amanda McReynolds Doran says they are preparing to once again welcome visitors through their doors in the coming weeks.
“Due to the elevated cleaning and sanitizing protocols that Wonderhub is putting into place to ensure that every visitor through our doors is kept safe, we will not be reopening on June 29th. We are diligently working with a health and safety expert to ensure that we are keeping families as safe as possible. We are taking extra time and care to ensure that the families that come and enjoy the learning through play experience at Nutrien Wonderhub are protected so all they need to do is enjoy their Wonderhub experience. We will be announcing a reopening date soon and look forward to seeing everyone this summer,” CEO Amanda McReynolds Doran said in an email to 650 CKOM.
Nutrien Wonderhub is located in the fully repurposed Mendel Building and on June 28, 2020 will mark its one year anniversary. Before the temporary closure due to the pandemic, Wonderhub had welcomed more than 144,000 vistors.
During COVID-19, Wonderhub has been offering virtual day camps and as new provincial guidelines regarding reopening camps have been released, in-person week long Wonder Camps will begin July 6, 2020.
