The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) declared COVID-19 outbreaks in two Hutterite communities in the RM of Maple Creek Wednesday evening.
Two members of a rural household in the area tested positive for the virus last week with an additional 14 positive cases verified on Wednesday, the SHA said in a news release.
Contact tracing is underway including possible connections to interprovincial travel to Alberta.
The SHA is asking residents to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.
Symptoms include a fever, cough, headache, muscle or joint pain, sore throat, chills, runny nose, nasal congestion, conjunctivitis, dizziness, fatigue, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite or sense of taste and smell, shortness of breath and difficulty breathing.
People presenting symptoms should call HealthLine 811 or a community health centre.
