A 34-year-old man is facing three charges of assaulting a police officer after police responded to a domestic disturbance Thursday afternoon.
Police were called to the 1600 block of 37th Street West at around 4:15 p.m. When they arrived, they found a man outside who was acting in an aggressive manner and who was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant.
Officers tried to take the man into custody, but he resisted arrest and attempted to hit the officers with a closed fist. He also attempted to bite one of the officers.
Police used a taser on the man, but it was not effective. They were able to eventually take him into custody.
