A 22-year-old is facing charges of causing death while driving impaired and failure to stop after a body was discovered in a parking lot Saturday morning in the Meadow Green neighbourhood.
Officers responded to a 911 call about an injured person in a parking lot on the 700 block of Appleby Drive at 4:30 a.m.
Police said Kiona Nicotine, the 23-year-old victim, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The suspect was found and arrested a short time later at a different location.
An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
Major crimes, forensic services and collision analysts were involved in the investigation Saturday morning.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
