If you see a number you don’t recognize coming from the United States on your phone, it’s probably just a technical hiccup.
Some SaskTel customers are seeing incoming calls with the 306 area code, but labelled as coming from the United States in the caller ID.
Greg Jacobs, a communications officer with SaskTel, said the company is working “as quickly as possible” to fix the issue.
However, there is a temporary fix you can do yourself.
“It is worth mentioning that this issue appears to happen with callers who are not stored in a device’s contact list, and adding these numbers to the contacts list may help prevent this issue from reoccurring,” Jacobs said in an email to 980 CJME.
