Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm warnings for some regions of southern Saskatchewan for Tuesday evening, including Regina, Moose Jaw, Central Butte, Pense, Craik, Fort Qu’Appelle, Indian Head Lumsden and Pilot Butte.
The storm system contains strong wind, heavy rain and nickle-sized hail, according to the weather office.
Severe thunderstorm watches blanketed other areas including Leader, Swift Current and Humboldt Tuesday evening.
The watches mean conditions are right for storms to develop.
Environment Canada says a cold front tracking through the southern prairies Tuesday afternoon is triggering thunderstorms, and some could be severe.
There also is a freezing rain warning in effect for Wollaston Lake and Collins Bay.
