A fire that destroyed two Hampton Village homes on Saturday was a result of improper disposal of smoking materials, according to a release from the Saskatoon Fire Department.
An investigator has determined the fire began in an area between two of the houses and quickly spread.
Damage is now estimated at $1.3 million dollars.
At around 6 p.m. Saturday firefighters responded to a 911 call in the 100 block of East Hampton Boulevard. Both homes were heavily involved in fire when they arrived.
