The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan is at its lowest point in nearly a month.
The provincial government reported Monday there were two new cases, increasing that total to date to 634. There also were eight more recoveries, hiking that number so far to 546.
There now are 81 active cases in the province — the lowest such total since there were 70 active cases reported on April 28.
Of the active cases, 68 are in the far north, six are in the north, six are in Saskatoon and one is in the south. Neither Regina nor the central region has an active case.

Of the 634 cases, 252 are from the far north, 167 are from the Saskatoon area, 111 are from the north, 76 live in the Regina area, 16 are from the south and 12 are from the central region.
The total includes 358 community contacts, 141 travellers, 76 people who don’t have a known exposure, and 59 people who are under investigation by local public health officials.
So far, there have been 50 health-care workers infected.
The total comprises 226 cases in the 20-to-39 age range, 193 people between the ages of 40 and 59, 104 people in the 60-to-79 age range, 93 cases involving people aged 19 and under, and 18 cases in the 80-and-over demographic.
Seven Saskatchewan residents have died to date.
There are six people in hospital, including four in intensive care in Saskatoon. Two people (one in Regina and one in the north) are receiving inpatient care.
The 450 tests done in the province Sunday increased the total to date to 44,312.
The daily number of tests could increase significantly now that the government has made testing available to anyone currently working outside the home or anyone returning to work as part of the Re-Open Saskatchewan plan.
