A councilor and business owner from the City of Weyburn is helping local businesses struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jeff Chessall said Weyburn Gift Card Days is a great chance for residents to support local businesses and treat themselves by purchasing gift cards, even if the business isn’t currently open to the public due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
Chessell told our John Gormley he got the idea from a post on Facebook, and used his web design skills and business contacts to set up a one-stop site listing the numerous cards available.
“It’ll list the business name, have their website, all the options for buying the gift cards,” Chessall said. “Go support the businesses and buy a gift card from them.”
Chessall said the Gift Card Days initiative will run from Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15. Anyone who wants to join in and buy a gift card, or businesses who want their offerings listed on the website, can find more information online.
