Saskatoon firefighters responded to a fire at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday after a 911 hang-up.
Dispatchers gathered minimal information about the fire before the caller hung-up, a media release said.
Using that information crews and support officials from six stations responded to a townhouse complex on the 2400 block of Kenderdine Road.
Everyone inside was evacuating when they arrived, the release said.
Firefighters discovered a fire around a stove which had extended to nearby cupboards.
The fire was considered under control within 10 minutes.
One occupant suffered serious burns and was transported to hospital for treatment.
A fire investigator is working to determine the cause and damage.
