Two people have been arrested in connection with a series of break-ins across central Saskatchewan that occurred over a span of more than two months.
The RCMP said Monday it started an investigation after receiving numerous reports of break-ins, thefts and property-related offences between Feb. 4 and April 26.
With the help of surveillance videos and other evidence, investigators determined a man and a white Ford F-150 had been spotted at several of the crime scenes. Officers subsequently were able to identify the owner of the truck as a 37-year-old Saskatoon man.
On Saturday, officers from several detachments executed a search warrant at the man’s house. The search turned up about $35,000 worth of stolen property, including tools, computers, electronic devices, ammunition, cheques, hair salon products, lottery tickets and clothing.
Police believe the items were taken in break-and-enters to businesses, residences and vehicles in Lucky Lake, Dinsmore, Rosetown, Kerrobert, Aberdeen, Humboldt, Milden, Conquest and Saskatoon.
The man was charged with three counts of break and enter, 10 counts of possession of stolen property, one count of theft and one count of mischief.
A 40-year-old woman who also was arrested was charged with one count of break and enter and seven counts of possession of stolen property.
They’re to appear in Saskatoon court on Wednesday.
