The Battlefords RCMP is searching for a man who stole guns from a store in North Battleford on Wednesday night.
In a media release, the Mounties said they responded at about 10:30 p.m., to a call of a break-in. Their investigation determined someone wearing a mask and gloves had broken into the store, pried open a cabinet and stole several guns.
The suspect then took off in an older-model white Ford F-150 pickup.
About 15 minutes later, officers were called to another store for an attempted break-in. A man was trying to get into the store when he was interrupted by a security guard. The suspect got away.
The man was described as being 5-foot-7 with dark hair. He was wearing a checkered shirt and dark pants and was carrying a backpack.
The Mounties are investigating, but they believe the incidents are connected.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Battlefords RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
