The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra (SSO) is on a hiatus from performing live during the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s postponed and cancelled a handful of events to ensure the health and safety of audience members and musicians.
To continue to bring music to people cooped up in self-isolation the SSO is joining other Canadian orchestras by heading to social media.
On Tuesday it shared a video from a performance last fall at North Battleford’s Dekker Centre, which is also available on SaskTel Max Video on Demand
Next week the SSO plans to release pop-up concerts on social media featuring solo and duo performances from musicians homes.
It’s called Meet the Musicians In Your Neighbourhood.
Music lovers can also watch home performances by members of the Toronto and Montreal Symphony Orchestras.
