The weather agency said it was tracking a low pressure system moving northeast from southern Alberta.
Systems bringing heavy snow were expected to move in overnight Monday and into Tuesday morning, bringing 10 centimetres of snow to most areas — but between 15 to 20cm in harder-hit areas.
Environment Canada had said the main band of heavier snow was expected to track northeast from Saskatoon to Hudson Bay.
The snow is forecast to linger until late Tuesday.
