More adult players are now investing in the protective equipment.
Schools in the province are taking varying degrees of measures as COVID-19 worries continue.
The Regina Catholic School Division said it’s pausing all assemblies as of late Friday morning. Gatherings will also be limited to 250 people.
Regina Public Schools will also be postponing or cancelling large events, which includes Laughter for Literacy.
That division also is postponing the parent-teacher conferences that were planned for next week. The hope is that they will be rescheduled at a later date.
At this point, the Catholic board parent-teacher conferences set for March 25-26 are going ahead.
Public schools are also cancelling all out-of-country division-approved travel for students and staff.
Regina Public Schools has also worked to help students and staff understand they should stay home if they are not feeling well, or if they may have been in contact with someone who may be sick.
The Prairie Valley School Division, along with the Regina public and Catholic divisions, are all taking preventative measures to help stop a possible spread of COVID-19. Those include disinfecting high-touched areas such as light switches, water fountains and other areas.
Those school divisions and the University of Regina are all following the advice from the Saskatchewan Health Authority on how they should approach things.
The university and Regina Public Schools have said there isn’t any indication that classes need to be cancelled at this time.
As the university continues to monitor the situation, planning is underway in case there is a need to reschedule or cancel face-to-face classes as well as final exams.
