The Juno Awards take place at Saskatoon’s Sasktel Centre on Sunday, but before the big show there are many opportunities for fans to get up and close with Canada’s top music artists.
JUNO Kick-Off Concert
Thursday, March 12

A number of the artists who perform or play at the JUNO Cup, including some of the NHL alumni, will all get together for a jam session. Jim Cuddy, Billy Talent, Barney Bentall, The Sheepdogs and The Strombellas are some of the talent that will be there.
JUNO Cup
Friday, March 13
7:30 p.m. Merlis Belsher Place
This is a celebrity hockey game that Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy dreamed up years ago as a fundraiser for MusiCounts. Here musicians will take on NHL alumni. The event is open to the whole family.
JUNO Comedy Show
Friday, March 13
9 p.m. Capitol Music Club
The comedy award was reinstated just three years ago, after the comedy community approached members of the JUNOs and asked if they could bring it back. The comedy JUNO went away in 1984. At the JUNO comedy show Friday, four of the five nominees will be performing; Adam Christie, Jarrett Campbell, Monty Scott, and Sophie Buddle.
JUNOfest
Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14
7 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. various venues
With a $35 wristband you’ll have access to all the clubs and bars taking part in JUNOfest for both Friday and Saturday night. Not only will there be lots of local great Saskatchewan based artists performing at these venues, but a number of nominees from across the country, coming in for JUNO week will also be performing.
JUNO Stories from the Studio
Saturday, March 14

If you’re a young artist or someone looking to get into the recording side of things, or move your music forward, JUNO Stories from the Studio is a panel you won’t want to miss. All the nominees for producer of the year and engineer of the year will be at this event. They will talk about the recording processes behind some of the most iconic songs that are nominated for JUNOs this year.
JUNO Fan Fare
Saturday, March 14
12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Midtown
This event is for the fans to meet the artists and get selfies with talent including Dallas Smith, Elijah Woods and Jamie Fine, Lennon Stella, Lights, Meghan Patrick, Scott Helman, and The Reklaws.
JUNO Gala Dinner & Awards
Saturday, March 14
This is a private event where 36 JUNO awards will be handed out. It can be streamed online.
JUNO Songwriters’ Circle
Sunday, March 15
12 p.m. TCU Place
At this event the artists will tell the stories behind the creation of the music. Allan Reid, the President and CEO of the awards calls this the “jewel of JUNO weekend” because it’s so loved by everyone who attends it. The event will be hosted by Lights and Tom Power and there will be performances by Aaron Goodvin, Elijah Woods and Jamie Fine, Tim Baker, Tom Wilson and White Horse.
The 2020 JUNO Awards
Sunday, March 15
6 p.m. SaskTel Centre
JUNO host and nominated for six awards, Alessia Cara will take the stage along with a number of performers including Glorious Sons and City and Colour, Tory Lanez, Lennon Stella and Daniel Caesar. Also at the awards show, Jann Arden will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame by Anne Murray.
