The Saskatchewan Rush continued its stretch of misery at SaskTel Centre this season, losing 9-8 to the Toronto Rock.
The loss snapped the Rush’s three-game winning streak and pushed the team’s home record to 1-3 in the 2019-2020 season.
Saskatchewan looked poised to in the game after building a 6-2 lead in the opening half before Toronto began its comeback effort.
Five Rock goals in the third quarter wiped away the lead and had the game tied 7-7 heading into the fourth quarter.
Reid Reinholdt’s hat trick goal completed the comeback for a 8-7 lead a little more than two minutes into the final quarter.
Rob Hellyer put some distance between the Rock and the Rush with another tally.
Robert Church got one back for the Rush, but it was as close as the team would come in the final minutes.
Church led all Rush players with three goals and two assists. Goalie Evan Kirk made 44 saves in the loss.
Saskatchewan leads the West Division with a 6-3 record.
The Rush return to SaskTel Centre Saturday to host the Vancouver Warriors.
